…many Film Festivals upon a time….
Second World War just over. US Army occupation was on in my home island Lido di Venezia. Dad worked with Americans in 1945 in the projection room at the Palazzo del Cinema, he turned movies, and sketched with charcoal and varnish on packing paper posters (missing from USA) of Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Cow Boys with guns and Indians with arrows, to update military men about films that were going on.
Years and the sparks of Festivals went by for films as “The Kentuckyan”, “Moulin Rouge”, “Marcelino Pan y Vino” and filmstars as Gary Cooper, Rita Hayworth, Ingrid Bergman, tycoons of that time , and kings, exhibiting in Lido’s Gran Viale, showing brand new American cars or Bentleys and Rolls, at Hotel Des Bains, Hotel Excelsior, or suntanning in their deluxe reserved beaches....
